Last updated: July 18, 2026
Paste It! is a local-first, open-source clipboard manager for macOS. The Mac app stores clipboard history on your device. This website provides marketing information and download links. There is no account sign-in, subscription, or paid billing.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to paste-it.app and the Paste It! macOS application (together, the "Project"). The Project is maintained by Yipeng Zhang.
By downloading the app or using the website, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Project.
1. The Project
Paste It! keeps clipboard history on your Mac. This website hosts marketing pages and download links. Source code is published on GitHub under an open-source license (MIT, unless a file says otherwise).
Support, bug reports, and feature requests are handled via GitHub Issues — there is no support email.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required where you live) to use the Project. The app targets macOS; other platforms are not currently supported.
3. License
Use of the open-source Mac application is governed by the license in its repository. Prebuilt downloads on GitHub Releases are provided for convenience. You are responsible for verifying the releases you install.
You agree not to:
- Use the Project to violate any law or third-party rights
- Interfere with or disrupt the website or its infrastructure
- Misrepresent affiliation with Paste It!
4. Local data and your responsibility
Clipboard history and related files remain on your Mac. You are responsible for:
- Securing your device
- Any sensitive information you copy into the clipboard
- Backups and retention of local data
We are not responsible for loss of local clipboard data caused by device failure, uninstallation, or settings you choose in the app.
5. Intellectual property
The Paste It! name, website branding, and related marks remain ours except where open-source licenses grant you rights to the software. These Terms do not grant trademark rights beyond ordinary fair use (for example, referring to the Project by name).
6. Disclaimer
THE PROJECT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Project will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Open-source software is provided without paid support obligations.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PROJECT.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE PROJECT WILL NOT EXCEED USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. Before formal proceedings, please try to resolve the matter informally via a GitHub Issue.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
