How to resize an image

  1. Open the image you want to resize

Choose, drop or paste an image. The width and height fields start with the dimensions of the current image.

  2. Set pixel dimensions or a percentage

Use By pixels to enter a width or height. Keep the aspect ratio locked to update the other dimension automatically, or use By percentage to scale both dimensions together.

  3. Check the output dimensions and save

Review the pixel dimensions and preview. Choose your output format and download, or select Apply changes to continue editing the resized image.

Keep the aspect ratio locked to resize without stretching your image.

Supported formats & limits

Open one image at a time (up to 30 MB): JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or AVIF where your browser supports it. Save as JPG, PNG or WebP, with outputs limited to 12,000 pixels per side and 40 megapixels in total. Animated GIFs export as a still image; HEIC is not supported. WebP export needs browser encoding support (otherwise PNG is used); blur requires Canvas filters.

Images are processed in your browser. Image contents and filenames are not sent to our servers or analytics. Refreshing or leaving the tools area clears your working image.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize without stretching the image?

Keep Aspect ratio locked when entering pixel dimensions. Changing the width then updates the height, and vice versa. Percentage resizing also keeps the same proportions.

Can I resize to an exact width and height?

Yes. Unlock the aspect ratio to enter both values independently, but this can stretch the image. To fill a different shape without stretching, crop to the desired aspect ratio, apply the crop, and then resize.

Will enlarging an image add detail?

No. You can increase the pixel dimensions, but this tool does not reconstruct missing detail or use AI upscaling. Check the preview for softness before downloading.

Do my images get uploaded?

No. Images are processed locally in your browser. The website uses the anonymous page analytics described in our privacy policy, but image contents and filenames are not collected.

Can I combine edits?

Yes. Select Apply changes to keep an edit before continuing with another tool, or choose Apply & switch when prompted. Undo and Redo move through applied edits, and Restore original returns to the source image. Download your result before refreshing or leaving the tools area.

Continue editing

Need a different shape? Crop to an aspect ratio before resizing.

Need fewer bytes after resizing? Adjust image compression and compare the exported file size.

Apply your changes?

Keep these changes before switching tools, or discard them and continue with your last applied image.

Leave without downloading?

Your current image and edits live only in this tab. Leaving the tools area clears this session. Keep editing to download your result first, or leave and discard the session.
